Internet Marketing

Well this topic truly is a big deal nowadays. You know that there is “something” about it because there is a whirlwind of hype swirling around it so we know that there is “something there.” But you do have to look past that hype-stuff to get into the true values that underlie this marketing technology.

The internet has become increasingly integrated into how we work. It is certainly well known now that increasing numbers of people will look to learn about products on the internet before buying and for price shopping. But that is “data” and not “impact” and not “convincing” and not “drawing attention in a sea of data.” At the end of the day we seek an end-result that shows up in sales… otherwise why bother?

The tools & techniques affect every business differently. B2B has a whole different set of circumstances surrounding how it works than does B2C. So, how Internet Marketing works is immediately divided into these primary two focuses with more and more helpful divisions as one focuses better and better.

So, we have created a no-hype MeetUp group to teach, to show, to learn, and to learn from each other. It is a “Presentation-Oriented” approach and not just a group discussion. Q&A can follow the presentation. The organizers will present initially, but, happy to yield the floor to others who have experiences and new ideas too.

A No Hype Course -

This is a no-hype Internet-Marketing group. We seek to have members who have marketing budgets in mind and are ready to learn how to use the Internet effectively. This is a heavily detailed and somewhat arcane topic but it is worth your full attention because it so sales oriented.

Some Topics Are –

SEO, SEM, Websites, Flash, Adwords, Adsense, Google, & more

We plan on covering SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), in general as they function in the Internet Marketing arena.  SEM often is also referred to as AdSense, AdWords, Image Ads, etc. We will cover Internet capacities, Email marketing, Copy writing for Landing Pages, difference between Image-&-Branding-Focus and Direct-Response-Focus (they are quite different.) Using the full facilities of Google, using Flash and Flash elements, video and Live-Face-On-Web facilities as well on your website and landing pages. We will focus on Image Ads at Google because they hold a great display facility.

Not Much About Social Media -

We may as well mention topics that the organizers do not plan on discussing: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and the other social media. This does not mean that members cannot venture into this area if they wish, but the organizers focus more on measured internet marketing techniques that deliver qualified sales leads, sales, and to a lesser extent website promotion using the targeted facilities of the search engine techniques.

Focus on Google Advertising -

We can show you how to setup a Google Adwords account, how to do keyword research, how to use Image-Ads and Flash-Ads in the Adwords as well.

Strategic Approach to Focus on Your Company –

All products are handled differently, and CAN be handled differently in Internet Marketing which means no cookie-cutter solutions and maximum flexibility. How one uses SEM, particularly, for a self-published book is quite different from selling $1 million+ real estate.

Group Participation Invited – 1/3rd Class is Presentation and 2/3rd is Q&A

The organizers do not know everything. This field is in a constant state of change. So come prepared to share your experiences and what you have learned as well.

SEO and SEM Covered In Depth -

SEO techniques and tools will be covered as well so that the mystery is reduced. This is a very arcane topic and covered well by one of our co-hosts. SEM is full of techno-babble and lots of internet hype about it. We will disentangle that hype from the SEM and show you how to integrate it into your Internet Marketing operations… per company and market focus.

Website Design & Webpage Methods -

We can also cover Website design, Website setup, Webpage tools and techniques. We can suggest also relatively inexpensive software tools that are very helpful too.

WordPress A Wonderful Place To Start -

We will include a lot of information about using WordPress if the Group wishes it. We can also demonstrate our favorite WordPress Theme Generator which is very helpful in producing WordPress themes you would like to fuss with to make them as you like them.. rather than “settling” for a free or low cost theme that is not giving you what you want.

One of the organizers has extensive experience with print catalogs and their distribution.
